Citrus Fruit

Like melons, citrus fruits have tough protective skins that help to keep their underlying flesh moist, flavorful and free of contaminants. Nevertheless, harmful bacteria can gather on these skins. Therefore, be sure to wash the fruit thoroughly before serving or consuming it.
